Room 33 MVS 2018

Every Wednesday morning in Term 4, Room 33 are lucky enough to have Miss Youn come in and teach us all some Korean words, greetings and songs. We are going to be learning how to write some Korean words in the next few weeks.

We had so much fun creating our Maori Pa's. The students worked really well together in their groups and had lots of fun taking ownership of their own learning. There was lots of team work,  problem solving, thinking and communication skills happening in all of the groups.

Last week for Inquiry we made Poi’s. We were lucky enough to have some students from FLS help us with the plaiting. This week we have started practicing a Poi routine called E Rere Taku Poi. We have been having lots of fun learning this routine.

We had a great day of learning today at Hoani Waititi Marae. Thank you to all our parent helpers who came along to help Room 33

This morning Room 33 ran in the Year 3 boys and girls cross country. We have been training hard for this event and the students did so well. l.

This term for Maths, we have been looking at Fractions. Today we made Fraction Flowers. The Room 30 and 33 children had so much fun doing some hands on Maths.

Every Friday we do Maths problem solving in mixed ability groups. The students have different roles each week within the group, with one being the recorder, one being the collector and the other as the captain. Some of the students find it hard not being the recorder but this gives them a chance to communicate their ideas and thinking to the other students within their group. Room 33 love problem solving challenges.
